AUBURN — Corinne F. Couture, 94, of Auburn died Saturday, March 18, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice. She had been a resident of The Odd Fellows home for the past two years. Before that, she lived with her daughter Claudette in Auburn.

She was born in Lewiston on Oct. 22, 1922, a daughter of the late Author (Pete) and Florida (Ducharme) Chenard.

Corinne was always ready for a good game of cards; she loved playing with her sister, her family and friends. She also played cards for many years with her Aunt Jennie. She also enjoyed playing bingo and many other games. In her younger years she loved hunting and fishing with her husband.

Corinne worked at Lown for 20 years then worked for Dori shoe for 14 years; she loved her work.

She leaves behind her sister, Annette Chenard of Auburn; a son, Conrad Couture and his wife, Lynn, of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; three daughters, Constance Gagnon of Lake City, Fla., Claudette Winslow Kenneth (Jack) Green of O’Brien, Fla., and Catherine Sawyer and husband, John, of Poland; five grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; and a daughter-in-law, Claire Charbonneau and her husband, Arthur.

She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene, in 1983; and four grandchildren, Richard Gagnon in 1991, Mark Couture in 2000, Lisa Couture in 2002 and Stephanie Sawyer-Collins in 2004.

Corinne would like to thank the staff at St. Mary’s, the Hospice House and Odd Fellows for the excellent care they gave to her; they were all very nice.
