LEWISTON – Warren G. Greim, 80, of Lisbon Falls, died Sunday, July 31, at 2:30 a.m., at Central Maine Medical Center, with his family by his side.
He was born in Somerville, Mass., on Aug. 17, 1924, son of the late George H. and Ethel (Johnson) Greim. He grew up in Arlington, Mass., and graduated from Arlington High School, Class of 1942.
For the next four years, he was enlisted in the U.S. Navy, until his honorable discharge in 1946. He left the military as an ensign and a flight instructor. He then went on to work for Atlantic Roofing in Arlington, Mass., and then Barrett Roofing, a division of Allied Chemical Corp., which is now Celotex Corp., of Tampa, Fla.
On June 17, 1956, he married the love of his life, Phyllis Goldrup, and together they raised two beautiful children.
He was a past master of Ancient York Lodge 155, Lisbon Falls, a member of the Kora Shrine Temple of Lewiston, and the Kora Kraftsman Degree Team, a life member of the Pioneer Chapter 11 O.E.S. Lisbon Falls, a member of the Lisbon Water Commission for 22 years, the Lisbon Cribbage Club, the Good Time Lanes Senior League and Mixed Couples League, and member of Prospect Hill Golf Course.
He loved hunting and fishing with his son, “Kip,” at the Forks.
He is survived by his soul mate, Phyllis Greim, of Lisbon Falls; two children, Debra L. Greim of Auburn, and Clifton W. and his wife, Sharon Greim, also of Auburn; two granddaughters, Krista A. and her husband, Jacob VonOesen, of Unity, and Janis L. Greim of Auburn; two great-grandchildren, Noah C. and Liam J. VonOesen; a brother, Donald and his wife, Joan Greim, of Marstons Mills, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Greim; and a nephew, John Goldrup.
