AUBURN – Sally Taylor DeWolfe, 73, of Conant Avenue, Auburn, passed away with her loving family by her side on July 9, at St. Mary’s Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Patterson, N.J., on April 17, 1932, daughter of Malcolm Taylor and Joyce Williston Taylor. She spent some of her childhood in Canada, prior to moving back to the states where she spent the remainder of her life.

She was employed by Oxford Paper and Lewiston Adult Education, before her retirement in 1999. However, between her two jobs she did what she loved the most, raising her family as a loving mother and wife.

She met her husband, James DeWolfe, whom she married on July 18, 1953, and they spent the next 52 years as one raising three wonderful children together. As a family they would make trips to New Brunswick, Canada, to visit her family still living there.

She loved sewing and gardening, but especially enjoyed carpentry and woodworking – frequently doing odd jobs for her family. She was a very busy person who dedicated her life to her work and raising her family without a thought of herself. She will be sadly missed, but always remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She was an active member of the Auburn Methodist Church serving as secretary of the Ruth Circle and as a Sunday school nursery worker.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years; her two sons, Jimmy DeWolfe of Auburn, and Don and his wife, Cathy DeWolfe, of North Carolina; one daughter, Shari and her husband, Leo Doucette, of Massachusetts; three sisters, Joyce Taylor, Eileen Howe and Berta Pellerin; two brothers, Earl and Thomas Kingston, all of Canada; and two grandchildren, Stacie and Thomas DeWolfe.

She was predeceased by a sister, Sandra Patterson; and a brother, Harold Taylor.
