STANDISH — Margaret A. Spencer (Maggie), 77, of Standish, passed away on Sunday, June 25, with her loving family by her side.

The daughter of Mascal and Albert Putt, she was raised by her grandparents Clarence and Mary Brown, after the loss of her parents. Maggie attended school in Ovapa, W.Va., and graduated from Clay County High School in 1957.

After graduation, she moved to Akron, OH, working in the office of the telephone company. Through mutual friends she met the love of her life, Jerry Spencer, and they married in February 1962.

Maggie and Jerry moved to Lewiston for 20 years. In 1982 she and Jerry moved with their children to Standish where they shared many happy memories with their children, grandchildren, and friends on the shores of Sebago Lake.

Maggie served for many years on the Standish Town Council. She was a member of the Auburn Methodist Church, the Ladies of the Lake (Sebago) Luncheon Group. She served for 20 plus years on the advisory board of International Order of Rainbow for Girls, Lewiston Assembly, and was a member of Pine Cone Chapter OES.

She was a very special woman in many of the lives that she touched. She will always be remembered for her caring and love that she gave to her family and friends,

She is survived by her son, Stephen and wife, Angie Spencer, of Poland Spring; daughter, Beth Spencer Woodhead. of Auburn; her grandchildren that she adored, Nathan Spencer, Emily Spencer and fiancé, Gilbert Cyr, Colin Woodhead and Carl Woodhead; and great-grandson Colton Cyr.

She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, parents and grandparents.
