FARMINGTON — Nate Goodine put on a show Tuesday night, helping lead Franklin County to a 2-1 victory over River Valley in American Legion baseball action Wednesday.
Goodine had 12 strikeouts on two hits in a complete-game effort on the mound. He gave up three walks and two hit batters. At the plate, he helped his own cause in the bottom first inning with a two-run single after Ryan Pratt got on base with a double.
Franklin County improves to 4-7.
Dylan Desroches had two singles for River Valley (2-6). Ethan Laubauskas went the distance as he had five strikeouts, five walks and five hits allowed.
Augusta 12, Bessey Motors 3
PARIS — Augusta took advantage of five Bessey Motors errors in a 12-3 victory in a key Zone 2 American Legion baseball game Wednesday.
Justin Rodrigue had an RBI in the first and a RBI double in the top of the fifth to spark Augusta’s offense. Dan White added a double and Jason Brooks had two hits.
Augusta (9-3) jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two-and-a-half innings. Bessey Motors (8-2) scored runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings. Augusta busted the game open with three runs in the top of the fifth and five more in the sixth inning.
