LEWISTON – Lorraine R. Riegelmann, 74, passed away peacefully on June 23, at d’Youville Pavilion with her family at her side.

She was born on May 25, 1931, in Lewiston, the youngest daughter of Leo and Marie (Blanchette) Pare.

She was a lifelong learner, continually taking various classes most of her life. She worked many years at the Star Store. When they closed, she began her career in insurance with Boston Mutual and later enjoyed investing in real estate.

She was a strong minded, independent woman who enjoyed traveling, going to plays and especially spending time with her family. She was a wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Long and partner, Gunnar Olson; grandchildren, Stephanie Adams and Benjamin Small; great-grandchildren, Corey, Matthew and Jack Adams; sisters, Fern Bardier and Marie Conrad; brothers, Bert and wife, Connie Pare, Paul and wife, Connie Poulin, and Roger Poulin; former husband, John Riegelmann; former sister- and brother-in-law Marie and Ray Martin; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her stepmother, Jeannette Pare; and her brother, Robert.
