PARIS — The newly formed Oxford Hills Community Literacy Team has announced the Feed Your Brain with Books project, which will bring free books to food pantries of the Oxford Hills area.

Members of the OHCLT are local educators, community members and librarians, and the group is one of the byproducts of School Administrative District 17’s Preschool Expansion Grant. This grant has provided over $1.2 million to expand preschool services to SAD 17 schools.

The purpose of the group is to support literacy development from birth to adulthood in our community. This project, which is the first for the group, will start by providing free books to the Norway and Harrison food pantries in order to support family literacy.

To contribute to this project, please bring gently used books to our collection boxes at the Paris Public Library, the First Congregational Church in Paris, the Norway Memorial Library and the office at University College and SAD 17 central office. They are accepting books for all ages, but are specifically targeting books for children and young adults.
