LEWISTON – Noella G. Higgins, 85, of Turner Square Apartments, Turner, died Thursday, May 19, at Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion.
She was born in Lewiston, Dec. 4, 1919, the daughter of Raoul and Rosa Roux Pelletier. She was educated in Lewiston schools and was married to Henry “Alec” Higgins Feb. 3, 1939, and he predeceased her May 20, 1989.
She was employed as a sales clerk at the former King’s Department Store and later at K-Mart in Auburn.
She was a member of the Auburn Catholic Community at St. Philip’s Church and enjoyed spending time with her daughter in Florida and playing cards and participating in the monthly potluck suppers with her friends at Turner Square Apartments.
She is survived by a daughter, Fay Bowman and husband, Harold, of Melbourne, Fla.; a son, Richard Higgins and wife, Shirley, of Hartford; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Higgins and companion, Gretchen, of Lewiston, Ricky Higgins and wife, Wendy, of Bridgton, and Karen Maples and husband, Randy, of Melbourne, Fla.; also eight great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren; and stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two grandchildren, Debbie Miller, and Daniel Bowman; a sister, Muriel Mathies; and a brother, Robert Pelletier.
