AUBURN – Florence C. Gilpatrick Fitzhenry, 99, passed away on Saturday, May 14, at Clover Health Care.
She was born in Trescott, June 7, 1905. She was the eldest of the five children of the late Perley and Winnifred Gilpatrick, and grew up in Whiting.
After graduating from Lubec High School, she went on to graduate from the Bryant Stratton Business School in Boston. She married the late Raymond C. Fitzhenry of Lubec on Aug. 9, 1934.
She was a member of Whiting Congregational Church, Whiting. She was a devoted wife, caring mother and a wonderful grandmother. She had many friends from Portland to Presque Isle; she was loved by all and will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her son, Paul H. Fitzhenry of Auburn; two granddaughters, Sandra F. Cyr and her husband, Donald, of Buckfield and Sally Hegarty of Dixmont; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Ruby Cyr, and Holly and Hannah Hegarty; two sisters, Rebecca Crane of Harrington and Arlene Crane of Portland; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond, in 1985; one sister, Madeline Dolan; and one brother, Paul Gilpatrick.
