DIXFIELD — Elijah Walker, 11, of East Dixfield shot his first-ever black bear on Youth Bear Hunting Day in Dixfield on Saturday.
Walker was with his father, Lee Walker, when he got the 158-pound bear, which was tagged and weighed at Steve’s Family Market in Wilton.
This is Walker’s second year hunting bear.
Roger Williams, the new owner of Steve’s as of July 18, said it will surely be a year Walker will remember forever.
