LOVELL — Back by popular demand, the trio Birds on a Wire will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at the Brick Church for the Performing Arts, 502 Christian Hill Road.
The group’s selections include Celtic, folk and gospel. They have been playing together since 2008, soon after Jenny and Greg Huang-Dale landed in Fryeburg and Jeanine Loubier flew in from Oklahoma to Waterford.
Loubier is a horse-lover and piano tuner who spends most of her time adding to her vast musical repertoire. She played banjo with a family bluegrass band for several years before joining Birds on a Wire. Now her main strings are fiddle and guitar, but she might also be seen with a mandolin or behind the piano.
Jenny Huang-Dale plays violin on her Civil-War-era instrument that was gifted to her by a friend, longtime Lovell resident Albert Stearns. She also brings out the cello.
Greg Huang-Dale started out playing the banjo with friends and folk song enthusiasts in college under the moniker Flying Fingers. The group later became a traveling contradance band and Greg switched to the hammer dulcimer.
Tickets at the door are $10 adults, $5 children 12 and younger. Refreshments will be served.
