LEWISTON – Donald L. Cothran, 70, a resident of Poland, died unexpectedly early Friday morning, April 22, at Central Maine Medical Center with his family by his side.
He was born in Lewiston, Aug. 18, 1934, the son of Roger and Carrie (Burgess) Cothran.
Phyllis and Donald were married Dec. 17, 1953, while Don was serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. Following the service, they both raised a family together in Danville, where they resided most of their lives.
He loved fishing, hunting, and going to flea markets.
He was employed for more than 30 years for Pioneer Plastics in Auburn, retiring May 21, 1988.
He was a member of American Legion Post 150 in Mechanic Falls.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Cothran, of Poland; two sons, Michael and his wife, Tina Cothran, and Mark Cothran all of Danville; one daughter, Cynthia and Paul Caron of Minot; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Katrina and her husband, Christopher, Jessica and her husband, Mike, Erica, and Travis; and three great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Katelin, and Hannah.
He was predeceased by one great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Cothran.
