BUCKFIELD — After a scoreless first half, Buckfield found the net twice and hung on to record a 2-0 win over St. Dom’s in a boys’ soccer tilt Thursday. 

Dylan Harvey converted a pass from Noah Wiley to make it 1-0 for the Bucks (1-0), while Zack Grover took a header pass from Ethan Jackson and fired it in to make it a 2-0 contest. 

Rick Kraske made 10 saves for the Bucks, while Matt Gosselin turned aside eight shots between the posts for St. Dom’s (0-2). 

Gray-New Gloucester 3, Wells 1

GRAY — Drew LaCerda netted a pair of goals on Thursday to lead Gray-New Gloucester to a 3-1 boys’ soccer victory over Wells. 

Oliver Grant also tallied for the Patriots (1-1) to complete the scoring. Liam Bell scored the lone goal for Wells (1-1).

Brannaon Gilbert made three saves for Gray-New Gloucester, while Eric Sousa deflected seven shots between the posts for Wells. 

Field hockey

Mt. Blue 15, Bangor 0

BANGOR — Hannah Minns, Catlin Underwood and Samantha Ellis each had three goals in Mt. Blue’s 15-0 victory over Bangor.

Ellis added three assists and Minns had two helpers. Jenna Hanrahan, Molly Harmon, Madison Bard, Megan Brown, Addison Davis and Ashley Parlin each had a goal in the victory for the Cougars (1-2).

Kahia Meheux had 20 saves for Bangor (1-2), while Sabrina Stern stopped a shot.

Leavitt 5, Maranacook 0

TURNER —  Kaitlyn Leclerc netted a pair of goals and made an assist in the second half to lead Leavitt to a 5-0 victory over Maranacook in a field hockey tilt Thursday. 

Jaelyn Nadeau, Sydney Olberding and Makenzie Treadwell also tallied for the Hornets (2-1) to complete the scoring. 

Hailey DeMascio needed to make only a single save to notch the shutout, while Alyssa Pratt turned aside 25 shots between the posts for Maranacook (0-3). 

Winthrop 13, Telstar 0

WINTHROP — Moriah Hajduk registered a hat trick Thursday as Winthrop raced away to a 14-0 field hockey rout over Telstar.

Kinli DiBiase and Hannah Duley chipped in for the Ramblers with two goals each, while single tallies by Bre Feeney, Katie Perkins, Nora Conrad, Olivia Simonson, Devyn Taylor and Lindsay Letourneau completed the scoring.

Aiva Agri and Alicia Bridges combined for the shutout for Winthrop, while Petty Norton deflected nine shots for the Rebels.  

Edward Little 2, Oxford Hills 0

PARIS — Liz Bellman tallied a pair of goals Thursday as Edward Little pulled off a surprise 2-0 field hockey win over Oxford Hills. 

Bellman scored her first at 19:42 in the second quarter before adding an insurance goal at the 4:08 mark with an assist from Oceanna Chamberlain. 

Elise Syphers made six saves for the Red Eddies (2-1), while Kaisa Heikkinen, Maddy Day and Jenna Moxey combined to turn aside 10 shots for Oxford Hills.

St. Dom’s 11, Old Orchard Beach 0

OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Hannah Trottier-Braun and Paige Cote each registered hat tricks to lead St. Dom’s to a 11-0 field hockey rout over Old Orchard Beach on Thursday. 

Kylie Leavitt chipped in for the Saints (2-0) with two goals and three assists, while Bailey Derocher, Caroline Johnson and Callie Samson also tallied to complete the scoring. 

Katie O’Neill deflected 22 shots for the Seagulls (0-2).

Lincoln 5, Leavitt 2

NEWCASTLE — Lincoln Academy scored four first half goals as it ran away from Leavitt in a 5-2 win in a KVAC Class B contest Thursday.

Tatum Hancock and Emily Harris each had two goals for the Eagles. Khloe Poland closed out the scoring for Lincoln. Leavitt’s goals were scored by Leah Maheux and Sophie Gilbert.

Kortney McKenna and Schuyler Farrell combined to make 14 saves for Lincoln (1-1-1). Shelby Varney and Allie Roux combined to stop seven shots for Leavitt (1-2-0).

Monmouth 11, Dirigo 1

MONMOUTH — Audrey Fletcher scored five goals and dished out two assists to lead Monmouth to a 11-1 romp over Dirigo in more MVC field hockey action Thursday. 

Emily Grandahl chipped in for the Mustangs (2-0) with three goals and one assist, while Tia Day, Emma Johnson and Anna Lewis all added single goals.

Lillie Williams scored on a penalty kick for the Cougars (0-2). 

Destiny Clough made a single save for Monmouth, while Katie Moore turned back 24 shots for Dirigo.  

Oxford Hills 2,  Cony 0

PARIS — Gillian Grover and Cecelia Dietrich each scored a goal Thursday as Oxford Hills hustled to a 2-0 girls’ soccer victory over Cony. 

Julia Colby and Cassidy MacIsaac also contributed for the Vikings with assists. 

Jillian Douglass made one save for Oxford Hills, while Kiara Henry deflected an impressive 30 shots between the posts for Cony.
