LEWISTON – James H. Davis, 56, a resident of 129 Pond Road, died early Friday morning, April 15, at Central Maine Medical Center with his family by his side after a long illness.
He was born in Jacksonville, Fla., April 22, 1948, the son of Thomas and Thelma Phifer.
He lived life for his family. He enjoyed playing bingo with his wife of 35 years, Jean. He was his children’s biggest fan. During their teenage and adult years, he attended every one of their sporting events. His greatest joy in life was spoiling his grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, father, grampa, and friend. He will be sadly missed by all.
Survivors include his wife, the former Jean Cusumano, of Lewiston; his mother, Thelma Phifer of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sons, Kenny Davis and wife, Crystal, of Poland, Jimmy Davis and wife, Jen, of Lisbon, Danny Davis and wife, Jessica, of Frankfort; one daughter, Patty Smiley and husband, Skip, of Lewiston; two brothers, Joe Burroughs and Sam Smith, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; and seven grandchildren, Brooke, Jordan, Josh, Hunter, Courtney, Chelsea, and Mikenzie.
He was predeceased by his father, Thomas Phifer; one sister, Cathy Reynolds; and mother-in-law, Pat Cusumano.
