AUBURN – Anita H. (Mathews) Craw, 84, died peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, April 12, at Marshwood Center for Health Care and Rehabilitation in Lewiston.

She was born in Auburn on Dec. 17, 1920, the daughter of the late William W. and Marion “Ga Ga” Mathews, and was educated in the Auburn school system.

She married the late Jesse Craw in 1939, and became a homemaker for most of her life, raising her 13 children.

She attended the Sixth Street Congregational Church and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

In her free time, she enjoyed working on puzzles, crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble, and cooking. Anita took great joy in her time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Penny Par and her husband, Thomas, of Lewiston, Sharon Craw of San Diego, Calif., Cassie Sharp and her husband, Larry, of Redlands, Calif., Bonnie Craw of Auburn, Cindy Craw of San Diego, Calif., Vicki Anderson and her husband, Robert, of San Diego, Calif., Lori Craw of Seattle, Wash.; and her sons, Jerry Craw of Auburn, Richard Craw and his companion, Beverly Cantara, of Augusta, Thomas Craw of Gaithersburg, Md., Jesse and his wife, Jeannine Craw, of Largo, Fla., Steven Craw of Lewiston, Gard Craw of Lewiston; two sisters, Joyce Stevens, and Carol Lasko; two brothers, Freeman Mathews, and William Mathews, all of Auburn; 25 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
