FARMINGTON — Helen S. Beckler, 90, a resident of North Jay, formerly of Livermore, passed away Friday morning, Sept. 15, at Sandy River Center in Farmington.

Helen was born April 23, 1927, in Monticello, the daughter of W. Nelson Stackhouse and Loula (Biggar) Stackhouse. She was later adopted and raised by Margaret and Phil Churchill in Houlton after her mother passed away giving birth to her 11th child.

Helen graduated from Houlton High School in 1946 and attended Ricker College for two years. On Oct. 27, 1951, in Livermore, she married Ronald Beckler. Together they raised their family on the farm in Livermore. Ronald passed away in 1992. Helen was a member of the Livermore Center Neighborhood Club and the Grange. She enjoyed knitting — especially hats — for the Grange that went to Coats For Kids. She also enjoyed needlepoint and doing word puzzles.

She is survived by her daughters, Sheryl Storer and her husband, Marvin, of North Jay, Susan Moras and her longtime companion, Bruce Webster, of Livermore; her son, David Beckler and his wife, Connie, of Livermore; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by her parents, W. Nelson and Loula Stackhouse; her adopted parents, Margaret and Phil Churchill; her son, Daniel Beckler; one grandson; one sister; seven brothers; four sisters-in-law and spouses; and four brothers-in-law and spouses.
