LEWISTON – George R. F. Hebert, 81, of Schooner Estates, Auburn and formerly of Golder Road, Lewiston died Saturday March 19, at d’Youville Pavilion.
He was born in Old Town, on Jan. 31, 1924, the son of Joe and Josephine (Morin) Hebert and was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served during World War II.
He worked for several years in the local shoe industry and later worked as a self-employed electrician for 30 years until his retirement.
He loved to cook and was a member of the American Legion Post 135 in Sabattus.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lillian (Dick) Hebert, whom he married on Feb. 18, 1950; his son, Michael Hebert of Lewiston; his brother, Paul Hebert and his wife, Virginia, of Connecticut; his sister, Beatrice Adam and her husband, Calvin, of South Portland; his brother-in-law, Leo Dick and his wife, Lucille, of Auburn; and by several nieces and nephews.
