LISBON FALLS – Vera M. Moore, 85, of 114 Summer St., Lisbon Falls, went to be with the Lord on March 1, with her loving family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Oakfield, on May 20, 1919, the daughter of Llewellyn and Bessie Parker. She attended Oakfield Grammar School. After moving to Lisbon Falls, she worked in the local mills until her retirement.
She enjoyed hunting and camping with her husband, knitting and crocheting items for her family, and caring for the many pets she has had through the years. She also enjoyed reading her Bible and listening to Christian music. She has been a member of the Lisbon Falls Baptist Church for many years and loved her Lord and Savior.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer L. Moore, whom she married 68 years ago on Feb. 14, 1937, in Smyrna Mills. She is also survived by her daughter, Betty L. Roberts of Lisbon; her son, Dale Sr., and his wife, Phyllis, of Lisbon Falls; a sister, Margaret Lamb of Norway; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by four children, Velma, Norman, Elmer Jr., and Llewellyn. She was also predeceased by three brothers, Stanley, Ensley and Olin Parker; and two sisters, Huldie Gould and Violet Hughes.
