WEST PARIS — The Friends of the West Paris Library are sponsoring a Fall Festival from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, in the West Paris Historical Society building, 232 Main Street.
As part of the festival, the Friends will hold their annual used book sale, which includes adult, young adult and children’s fiction, as well as nonfiction for all ages. For the last hour of the sale, noon to 1 p.m., a bag of books will be $1.
Unique homemade crafts and “down-home” baked goods, made and donated by local residents, will also be for sale. Hot coffee, tea, cider, muffins and coffee cake will be available while browsing.
A raffle of seven filled baskets of various themes are on display at the library, and tickets may be purchased there now and at the festival. Tickets are $1 or six for $5. The drawing will be at the close of the festival.
The money raised from the sales will be used for library projects and programs.

Comments are not available on this story. Read more about why we allow commenting on some stories and not on others.
We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
