LEWISTON – Antonio J. Pomerleau, 95, of 32 Boston Ave., died Friday, Feb. 11, at Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion, where he had been a resident for five months.
He was born at St. Methot, P.Q., Canada, Feb. 28, 1909, the son of Alfred and Marie Doyon Pomerleau.
He was a local resident since 1912, and was married to Lucia Simard, who died Jan. 26, 1970.
He was remarried June 21, 1974, to Irma Caron Bisson.
He was employed for many years at Bates Manufacturing, and was a member of Holy Cross Parish.
He was also a member and past president of the former Sacred Heart League at Holy Cross, Lewiston Senior Citizens, and was the last living founding board member of Ste. Croix Federal Credit Union.
He is survived by his wife of Lewiston; three daughters, Lucille Leclair and her husband, Robert, of Lisbon, Doris Levasseur and her husband, Normand, of Lincolnton, N.C., and Annette Forsman of Modesto, Calif.; three sons, Raymond Pomerleau and his wife, Rolande, of Tacoma Lakes and Vero Beach, Fla., Bertrand Pomerleau of Valdosta, Ga., and Renald Pomerleau and his wife, April, of Fort Myers, Fla.; two stepsons, Stanley Bisson and his wife, Marielle, of Sun Valley, Calif., and Roger Bisson and his wife, Yvonne, of Lewiston; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several step-grand- and great-grandchildren.
