LEWISTON – Richard Williams Hughes of Marston Street, Lewiston, passed away from heart failure at his home on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31.
Born in Lewiston, Nov. 13, 1946, the son of Rosario and Helena Roy Hughes, he was educated in Lewiston schools and graduated in the Class of 1965.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam Era. Richard’s favorite pastime was listening to his many different varieties of radios, spending time with his friends and going out to eat with his brother, Roger.
He will always be remembered as “Uncle Dickie,” one of the best loved uncles by his many nieces and nephews.
Survivors include five brothers, Henry R. Hughes and his companion, Elsie Troy, of Orange County, Calif., Fernand and Theresa Hughes of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Arthur and Helen Hughes, Robert and Mary Hughes, and Roger and Rae Hughes, all of Lewiston.
He was predeceased by his parents, Rosario on Nov. 22, 1999, Helena Hughes in 1986, and his brother, Donald L. Hughes in 1994.
