LEWISTON – Sylvia G. Catruch, 83, of Pierce Street, Lewiston, died Friday, Dec. 31, after a short illness.

Born in Machias Port on March 6, 1921,she was the daughter of Harold and Zoe Young Wood.

She was the wife of Salva Catruch who died in 1999.

She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Her interests included a great love of flowers.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Lois) Richards of Machias, Mrs. Cheryl Chartier of Saco, and Mrs. Robert (Josie) Alimandi of Lewiston; three sons, Robert Smith, Bruce Smith, and Dennis Smith, all of Lewiston; 19 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by one son, Rodney; one sister, Goldie Chambers; and three brothers, Floyd, David and Harold Wood.
