AUBURN — The Center for Workforce and Professional Development at Central Maine Community College will offer two Comp TIA certification courses in October.
Comp TIA issues vendor-neutral, professional certifications for the information technology industry. The Comp TIA exams can be taken at CMCC’s testing center on the Auburn campus.
Comp TIA A+ will be offered from 5 to 9 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, beginning Oct. 11 to Dec. 6 (no class Nov. 22); and Comp TIA Network+ will be offered from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning Oct. 12 to Nov. 30 (no class Nov. 23).
Many employers recommend or require Comp TIA certifications for their IT professionals. Certification serves to validate job skills and make a job applicant more competitive. These certifications can also be used toward college credit.
The cost for the Comp TIA A+ certification prep course is $2,000; the cost for the Comp TIA Network+ certification prep course is $1,500.
Registration for the courses is open and ongoing but space is limited. To register online, go to www.cmcc.edu/training. Deadline for registration is Oct. 5. For more information on the courses, email: [email protected].

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
