NORWAY – Betsey Elizabeth Rolfe Grover, 85, of Bolster’s Mills, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, at her daughter’s home in Norway.
She was born in Mason Township Nov. 24, 1918, a daughter of Edwin W. and Alice D. Mills Rolfe. She was educated in Bethel schools.
She worked for A. L. Stewart for 20 years, retiring in 1980.
On July 24, 1937, she married Earl L. Grover of Otisfield, who passed away March 15, 1989.
She enjoyed and took pride in her vegetable and flower garden, sharing her products with family and friends. She also enjoyed playing beano, knitting mittens and baby blankets for all of her grandchildren and needy kids, and was an avid Red Sox fan.
She is survived by two sons, Lloyd Grover and his wife, Alana, of Otisfield, and Sidney Grover of Norway; two daughters, Donna Bean and her husband, Richard Sr., of Otisfield, and Sylvia Andrews of Norway; 13 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Thelma Card, Ruth Kittredge and Arlene Merrill; several nieces and nephews; and a very special caregiver, Darci Sanborn, of South Paris.
She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years; five children, Martena Parent, Carol Gothing, John Grover, infant Earl Grover Jr., and Kerry Grover; four brothers, Nelson Rolfe, Marshall Rolfe, Harold Rolfe and Winfield Rolfe; and a sister, Norma Jodrey.
