LITCHFIELD – Flora S. Weeks, 87, fell asleep in Jesus Friday, Nov. 5, at her home in Litchfield after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born in Litchfield on April 26, 1917, one of three children of Benjamin R. Mary Palmer Small. She attended Litchfield schools and graduated from Litchfield Academy.

She married Frederick O. Weeks on Nov. 9, 1940, in Litchfield.

She was an active member of the Litchfield Plains Baptist Church and an active member of the Litchfield Grange.

She enjoyed gardening, working along side her husband on their dairy farm, and was famous for her custard pies and cinnamon rolls that she shared with many.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Freddie Weeks of Litchfield; son Owen L. Weeks and his wife Phyllis of Litchfield; daughter Barbara Newendyke and her husband Melvin of Litchfield; three grandchildren, Cory Newendyke and his wife Esther of Litchfield; Brenda Pilkington and her husband Jeffery of North Berwick; Scott Weeks and his wife Michelle of Litchfield; 6 great grandchildren, Jennifer Newendyke, Jessica Newendyke, Frederick Pilkington, Kathleen Pilkington, Samantha Weeks and Lindsey Weeks.

She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Gertrude Rowe; and her brother, Lewis Small.
