LEWISTON – Pam A. Abbott, 56, wife of John Abbott of Sylvain Lane, Greene, passed away Sunday, Oct. 10, following a courageous battle with a long-term illness.
She was born in Jacksonville, Fla., Aug. 24, 1948. She was educated in Hamden High School in Hamden, Conn.
She was the owner and operator of Discount Video and T.J. Redemption in Lewiston for 12 years.
She was very active in the Jaycee Women during the late 1970s, and won many awards. The local chapter named an award in her honor for the woman who contributed the most to the chapter for the year.
She was a devoted wife, mother and Nana; her family was her life.
She enjoyed traveling. She and John enjoyed their regular trips to Las Vegas. Boat trips around Sabattus Lake were one of her favorite summer events.
Surviving, beside her husband of 37 years, are her mother and stepfather, Rita and Bob Murphy, of St. Albans; three brothers and four sisters; and her children, John Abbott Jr. and his wife, Michelle, of Manchester, Conn., James Abbott and his wife, Stacey, of Turner, Theresa Brown and her husband, Stephen, of Poland, and Joyce Harvey and her husband, David, of Auburn.
She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Tyler and Kirbie Abbott, Allison and Ashley Abbott, Dyanna, Natasha and Trevor Brown, and Dimitri and Nevaeh Harvey.
