LEWISTON – Thomas B. George Sr., 77, of Mechanic Falls, died Monday, Oct. 4, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Norway, Nov. 2, 1926, the son of Gile M. and Helen I. Downing George.

“Tom” graduated from Mechanic Falls High School and worked many years as a postal carrier in Mechanic Falls. He faithfully served his country in the Navy during World War II.

He was a member of American Legion Post No. 150 in Mechanic Falls, and Floyd-Harlow Post No. 9787 VFW.

He was married to Elizabeth Teague, who died July 14, 1993.

Survivors include his three children, Linda, Tom, and Gary; two sisters, Barbara Davis, and her husband, Arthur, of Oxford, and Betty Hackett, of Mechanic Falls; two brothers, Bob and Dick, both of Mechanic Falls; several grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
