WINTHROP – Regina Strout, 74, a resident of Monmouth, died Friday morning, Oct. 8, at Nicholson’s Long-term Care and Rehabilitation Center in Winthrop, where she had resided since Oct. 1, 2003.
She was born in Lewiston on Nov. 21, 1929, the daughter of Charles H. and Regina (Arsenault) Roberts Jr.
She graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn in 1947.
On Dec. 30, 1954, she married Lloyd E. Strout Sr. in Auburn they made their home and raised their family in Monmouth. He passed away, June 9, 1989.
Regina worked at Carlton Woolen Mill in Winthrop until her retirement in 1986. She enjoyed reading and caring for her grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons, Bruce Pelkey, and his wife, Linda, of Litchfield, John “Jack” Pelkey, of Fargo, N.D.; Lloyd E. Strout Jr., of Monmouth; four daughters, Betty Jane Nason, and her husband, George, of Fayette, Darlene Cripps, and her husband, David, of North Monmouth, Linda Smith, and her husband, Harold, of Monmouth, and Bonita Girardin, and her husband, Richard, of South Monmouth; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Hinkley, of Auburn, Jane Cote, of New Gloucester, Arlene Hiscock, of Auburn, and Pat Bissonette, of Lewiston; and a brother, Richard Roberts, of Lewiston.
