BERLIN, N.H. – Marian J. (Murphy) Doucette, 88, of Birch Grove, Gorham, N.H. and formerly of 22 Williamson Ave., Berlin, N.H., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 5, at Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin.

Born in Gorham, N.H., June 28, 1916, the daughter of Joseph and Hilda Reed Murphy, she had lived in the Berlin/Gorham area for most of her life.

She was a 1935 graduate of Gorham High School, and was employed at Converse Rubber Co. and Ware Knitters prior to her retirement.

Marian was a member of the Gorham Alumni Association, Degree of Pocahantas of Rochester, N.H., and attended the Community Baptist Church in Gorham.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Doucette of Monument Beach, Mass., and Richard Doucette of Newington, Conn.; two daughters, Mrs. Roger (Hilda) Laflamme of Berlin, N.H. and Mrs. Andrew (Mary) Speros of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; 20 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Valmore J. Doucette, who died July 21, 1994; a son, James; a daughter, Janet; three brothers, Robert Murphy, Lawrence Murphy and James Murphy; and a sister, Ellen Berry.
