RUMFORD – Elsie M. Douglass, 87 of Upton, died in Rumford June 18.

She was born in Albany, on March 6, 1917, the daughter of Charles and Ethel (George) Conner and was educated in local schools. She loved hunting and fishing and was a Registered Maine Guide. She had been a homemaker most of her life and had driven school bus for the town of Upton for eight years, her family was her life.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Davis and her husband Larry of Bethel, Ann Greenleaf and her husband Eldon of Bethel and Velozra Tibbitts and her husband Michael of Sabattus; 12 grandchildren, Ann Marie Blake of Meredith, N.H., Vernon Davis of Bethel, Perdita Largesse of Errol, N.H., Nathan Greenleaf of Lovell, Nathanael Greenleaf of Norway, Douglass Greenleaf of Bethel, Karen Pearl of Yarmouth, Michelle Douglass of Portland, Dustin Douglass of Upton, Michael Tibbitts of Poland, Eric Tibbitts of Lewiston and Sheila Koatsky of Seattle, Wash.; 15 great grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was predeceased by her husband, Howard Douglass; two sons, John Orne Douglass and Nelson Dustin Douglas; and one granddaughter, Shelby Douglass.
