FARMINGTON – Earl Phillip Rhoda, 75, of Jay, formerly of the greater Brunswick area, died in the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 9, at the Sandy River Center for Healthcare and Rehabilitation.

He was born Aug. 23, 1929, in Hodgdon, a son of Earl P. and Ellen Rhoda. He received his education in Hodgdon and South Hope schools. He was a Superintendent of Construction for J.H. Miller of Woolwich, Fred Merrill Co. of Portland, D.L. Poulin of Brunswick and Gordon T. Burke of North Conway, N.H., and was a self-employed mason.

He is survived by his companion and sidekick, Caroline Dunn of Jay; one son, Kirk G. Rhoda and his wife, Naomi of Redlands, Calif.; one daughter, Dawn L. Spearrin and her husband, Bill of Brunswick; three brothers, Kenny Dean, Ralph Dean, and David Dean; three sisters, Donna Rhoda, Betty Gjestrum and Rosmond Partridge; five grandchildren, Heather Rhoda, Shawn Rhoda, Ashley Farmer, Samantha Farmer and Galen Rhoda; one great-granddaughter, Adriana Bernier; and a former wife, Roberta E. Farmer of Freeport.
