WEST POLAND – Vera Coffin Thorne, 70, died Friday morning, June 4, at her home.

She was born in Damariscotta, Aug. 30, 1933, the daughter of Walter and Louise Blake Coffin of Alna. She attended school in Alna and was a homemaker. She also had done a lot of baby-sitting.

She married Harold B. Thorne of West Paris on May 8, 1962, who died May 4, 1990.

She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, walking and camping.

Survivors include two sons, David and his wife Rhonda of Oxford, and Brian and his wife Shirley of Middleton, N.H.; two sisters, Carolyn Verrill of Oxford, and Rose Rice of South Paris; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Pat Kimball for taking such good care of Vera.
