1923 – 2004

LEWISTON – Gertrude A. Dagneau, 80, of 70 Blake St., Lewiston, died Friday, March 12, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center of respiratory distress.

Born in Berlin, N.H., July 23, 1923, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Giroux) Jolin, she had been a resident of this community most of her life.

She was a member of Holy Family Church. Mrs. Dagneau enjoyed supporting national charities. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Gerard Dagneau, whom she married on Oct. 19, 1940 of Lewiston; two sons, Leo Dagneau and his wife, Jeanne of Lewiston and Paul Dagneau and his wife, Susan of Lewiston; two daughters, Rita Laliberty and her husband, Donald of Sabattus and Jackie Lavertu and her husband, Glenn of Lewiston; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by one daughter, Doris Dagneau on Feb. 22, 1955; one sister, Beatrice Mathieu; and two brothers, Leo Jolin and Ronaldo Guinette.
