1921 – 2004
LEWISTON – Ruth A. Taylor, 82, of Lower St., Turner, died Tuesday morning, March 2, at Central Maine Medical Center.
She was born in Auburn on May 7, 1921, a daughter of Charles and Mae Sanderson Vye. She was educated at Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little High School. She furthered her education at the Auburn Maine School of Commerce, Gorham State Teachers College, and the University of Southern Maine.
She married Kenneth H. Taylor on Oct. 17, 1942. She taught school for the city of Auburn until her retirement. She was a member of the Minot Corner Methodist Church. She enjoyed going to the Maine Music Theater, gardening, knitting and her dog, “Rosie”.
She is survived by her husband of Turner; a daughter, Shirley Hartwell of Turner; a son, Scott Taylor and his wife Cindy of Turner; a granddaughter, Lindsay Valentine of Auburn; a grandson, Brian Taylor of Turner; a great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Valentine of Auburn.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Taylor Cote.
