1917 – 2004

LEWISTON – Frances M. Colello, 86, died Saturday, Jan. 24, at CMMC, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Born in Haverhill, Mass., Sept. 2, 1917, she worked at Paragon Glass Works and Cooper’s Restaurant until 1974.

She loved working at Blackpoint Inn in Scarborough and The Colony in Kennebunkport and Delray Beach, Fla., as a hostess. She continued to work at The Colony until 1990. She devoted the rest of her life to her family giving support and love.

She was the daughter of Mary and Antonio Nilio of Haverhill, Mass. She was educated in Haverhill, Mass. In her retirement years, she enjoyed bowling, walking on the beach, cooking, supporting her family and being with her friends.

Survivors inlcude two daughters, Barbara Mathieu of Lewiston and Mariann Dunmire and her husband, Thomas of Boca Raton, Fla.; one sister, Patricia Perrozzi of Plymouth, Minn.; former son-in-law, Raymond Mathieu of Lisbon Falls; two grandchildren, Jessica Mathieu and Matthew Dunmire; many nieces and nephews; and the family dog, Casey, who kept her company in her final days.

She was predeceased by her mother, Mary Nilio; her father, Antonio Nilio; brother, Joseph Nilio; and her sister, Angelina DiBartlomeo.
