1941 – 2004

LEWISTON – Marvin Willard Berry, 62, of New Gloucester, went home to be with his Lord on Jan. 5, at a local nursing facility.

Born in Lewiston, July 26, 1941, the son of Willard and Mildred Turner Berry, he graduated from New Gloucester High School in 1960.

He was employed as an engineering technician for the Maine Department of Transportation in Scarborough for 37 years, until his retirement in 2000.

He was known for his dry sense of humor and love of practical jokes. He enjoyed his three grandsons, never missing one of their little league games. One of the boys’ fondest memories is snowshoeing into the woods with their Papa, to build a small campfire and roast hotdogs. He also enjoyed road trips, the outdoors and being with friends at Cole Farms.

Survivors include his son, Ronald Berry of Tucson, Ariz.; his daughter, Sandra Harmer, her husband, Jon and their three sons, Jordan, Cameron and Evan, all of New Gloucester; his sister, Janice Joy of Lewiston; and three nieces.
