HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Rita M. Dube, 79, of 205 East Grand Ave., Old Orchard Beach, and Hollywood, Fla., died Monday, Dec. 29, at the Kindred Hospital.

Born in Lewiston on Aug. 16, 1924, she was the daughter of Ludger and Clara Auger Turcotte. Educated in local schools, she was married to Roger J. Dube on Aug. 21, 1943. Mr. Dube passed away on Aug. 2, 1998.

Along with her husband, she owned and operated the New Linwood and Vesper hotels in Old Orchard Beach, retiring together in 1985. Besides spending time with her daughter and grandchildren, she enjoyed shopping, especially hunting for bargains at flea markets.

Survivors include a daughter, Jane and husband Norman Morin of Scarborough, two grandchildren, Brenda and husband Andrew Jones of Scarborough, and David and wife Robyn Morin of Buxton; three great-grandchildren, Andrew and Hunter Jones, and Julia Morin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Bertha Fournier.
