1927 – 2003

WEST COVINA, Calif. – Maynard Lewis Hazelton, 76, formerly of Greenwood, died Thursday, Dec. 25, at his home in West Covina.

Born in South Paris, Nov. 10, 1927, the son of Priscilla Bean and Lewis Hazelton, he lived in the Greenwood area for several years with his wife, Mary and his children, until moving to California in 1964.

He loved his family and watching sports on TV, especially the Red Sox and Patriots. He served in the U.S. Maritime Service and the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary of West Covina, Calif.; five children, daughter, Joy and husband, Jim Harding of Colorado, son, Gary Fuller and wife, Esther of Greenwood, daughter, Linda and husband, John Kundrath of California, daughter, Susan and husband, Joel Gelfand of California, and son, Tom Hazelton and wife, Lisa of California; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Katie and husband, Peter Pacholski of Norway.
