1910 – 2003

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Margaret Noble Cleveland, 92, a resident of Norway for 64 years, died at the home of her son, Richard, on Oct. 22.

She was born Dec. 16, 1910, the daughter of Harry Goodin and Ida Venatta (Currie) Noble in the community of Blaine. Following her graduation from Blaine High School, she entered the Presque Isle School of Nursing and later Hartford School of Nursing in Hartford, Conn., where she received her degree as a registered nurse.

She met John W. Cleveland and they married in 1932, making their home in Norway. They celebrated 42 years of marriage before his death in 1976. As a registered nurse, she worked in nursing homes and other nursing facilities and hospitals in Norway for more than 40 years.

After retirement from Stephen’s Memorial Hospital, she continued to volunteer there for several years. She moved to Klamath Falls, Ore., in 1996 to be near her son.

She enjoyed the outdoors and thoroughly enjoyed walking in the country. She also liked working in her garden, knitting, and making braided rugs, a skill she acquired while she and her sister Pauline were working as civilian observers, watching for enemy aircraft during the latter part of World War II.

She was a cheerful, fun-loving person who spent her life making others happy and giving comfort. Her family and friends were most important in her life.
