1912 – 2003

LEWISTON – Josephine Caron, 91, of 48 Laurier Ave., died Thursday morning, Oct. 23, at the Marshwood Center for Health Care and Rehabilitation.

She was born in Lewiston on Sept. 21, 1912, the daughter of Joseph and Amanda (Cloutier) Castonguay.

She was the widow of Roland Caron whom she married on Nov. 28, 1940 and who died on March 21, 1979. She was a member of Holy Family Church. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly and enjoyed being with them.

She is survived by two daughters, Doris Desbiens and her husband Robert of Sabattus and Jackie Boulanger and her husband Norm of Lewiston; three sons, Robert Caron and his wife Carmen of Lewiston, Donald Caron and his wife Monique of Buxton, and Conrad Caron and his wife Suzanne of Lewiston; her 12 loving grandchildren, Louise, Michelle, Doreen, Michael, Dan, Marc, Jennifer, Stephen, Denise, Paul, Debbie, and Ryan; and 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucille Barrett and Rose Rioux both of Lewiston; three brothers, Charles, Lionel, and Gerard Castonguay all of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Christene M. Binette on Sept. 17, 1980; one sister, Rita Castonguay; and two brothers, Joseph and Roland Castonguay.
