1930 – 2003
NORWAY – Major Donald G. Norton, retired U.S. Air Force, 73, of Norway, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
Born in Limerick, Feb. 22, 1930, the son of Winfield J. and Marie Bickford Norton, he graduated from Parsonsfield Seminary High School in 1948.
He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1971 after 20 years. He had been a pilot instructor while in the Air Force. He later worked in Plattsburgh, N.Y. doing radio and TV repair.
He was a member of the North Country Vietnam Veterans Association in W. Chazy, N.Y., and the V.F.W. Post 125 in Plattsburgh, N.Y. He married Janet Brown and she died in November of 1993.
Survivors include two brothers, Ralph Norton of Henniker, N.H., and Rodney Norton of Porter; a niece, Lisa Morrill of Caledonia, N.Y.; a nephew, Harold Anderson III of New York; his companion of 10 years, Hazel Abbott of Norway; and several cousins.
He was predeceased by a brother, Harold; a sister, Pauline; and a nephew, Harold.
