QUINCY, Mass. – Alice “Jeannie” G. Lessard, of Quincy, Mass., formerly of Boston, died Aug. 27.
Born Alice Collins in Fall River, Mass., she was raised in Lewiston. Her father, John A. Collins, owned the Bates Mills.
She studied at the New England Conservatory of Music. With the stage name of Jeannie McKeon, she embarked on an extensive singing and recording career in New York and Hollywood. Among her career highlights were appearances with Benny Goodman and Roy Bargy. She was also featured on the Bob Hope, Jimmy Durante and Tony Martin radio programs.
She leaves her husband, Wilfrid Lessard of Quincy, Mass.; his daughter, Madeleine Walker of Missouri; and many close friends including Caleb Stewart of Belmont, Mass. and Nancy Casey of Quissett, Mass.
