BANGOR – Helen M. Lawler, RN, 82, a long time resident of Mexico, died in Bangor. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003 following a short illness.

She was born in Tignish, P.E.I., Canada, Oct. 2, 1920 to Joseph and Laura (McCarthy) Arnold. She graduated Valedictorian at Dixfield High School and later served as an Army RN in World War II.

She owned and operated along with her husband Ashley J. Lawler a wholesale fruit and produce business along with operating the Intervale Camp Ground. She was a dedicated mother and loved animals and creative projects.

Helen was predeceased by her husband, Ashley, and her youngest son, Dennis. She is survived by her two sons, Philip and his wife, Melissa, and their children Joe, John, Jeff and Julia, all of New Jersey, Harry and his, wife, Jeanne and their son, Shane, all of Florida; a her daughter, Nanci and her dogs Shadow and Sha-zee of Maine; and a brother, Norbert Arnold, of Lewiston.
