1914 – 2003

LEWISTON – Emilienne M. Daigle, 89, a resident of 18 Plummer St., Auburn, died Sunday afternoon, Sept. 14, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

She was born in St. Ignace, New Brunswick, Canada, on June 24, 1914, the daughter of Gerasime and Rosalie Richard Gallant. She was educated in New Brusnwick schools.

She married Nazaire Daigle on June 24, 1936, he passed away on Feb. 20, 1976. She had been employed as a housemother at St. Mary’s School of Nursing for 32 years retiring in 1987. She was a member of Holy Cross Church and the Lewiston Senior Citizens.

She leaves three daughters, Eliza Carrier and her husband Julien of Wilmington, Del., Rose Vallee and her husband Daniel of Chelmsford, Mass., Angela Saucier of Auburn; two sons, Leo Daigle and his wife Priscilla of Dunnelon, Fla., and Dolphe Daigle and his wife Bonnie of Seaford, Del.; a sister-in-law, Shirley Daigle; plus 25 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Rev. Real Daigle.
