1925 – 2003

AUGUSTA – Walter Edward “Jake” Jacobson, 78, a resident of High Street, West Paris, died Saturday evening at the Veterans Administration Medical Regional Office Center (Togus) following a long illness.

He was born in Norway July 13, 1925, the son of Edward and Mary S. Pike Jacobson. He attended the Schools of Norway until at the age of 17. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines during World War II. He was employed as a machinist in many places, including Maine Machine of South Paris and in Nashua, N.H. He had an interest in dancing.

Survivors include his brother Theodore “Ted” Jacobson of Norway; step-children Cindy Bonney Moxcey, Randy Bonney, Cherrie Bonney, Jim Taylor, Yvette Lizotte and Gary Taylor; eight step-grandchildren, Gary Lizotte, Samantha LaBrecque, Heather Bonney Roemer, Dylan Andrews, Diana Moxcey and Marsha Sheehan; step-great-grandchildren Ethan LaBrecque and Evan Moxcey. He also leaves behind a long-time friend and loving companion, Gertrude of Auburn. He was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Jacobson.
