1923 – 2003
LEWISTON – George B. Hachey, 80, died July 2, at a Lewiston Health Care Facility following a long battle with cancer.
He was born April 11, 1923 at St. Stephen, N.B. Canada, the son of Charles and Alice (Desmond) Hachey. He was a Canadian Army Veteran of World War II and served with the R.C.E.M.E. Division from 1941 to 1946. Prior to his retirement he worked many years for the Rose Woven Label Co. and also for many years at the Diamond Machine Co. He enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting, fishing, his lawns and gardens.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis (Polleys) Hachey, and one son, William Hachey both of Lewiston; one stepson, Robert Rushton and his wife Donna of Mississippi; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and one brother.
