1935 – 2003

LEWISTON – Lester W. Flagg, 67, of Otisfield, died Thursday, June 19, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Born in Harrison, Aug. 27, 1935, the son of Warren and Airminta Strout Flagg, he attended school in Harrison.

He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves for nine years. He worked for Lucas Tree and had his own tree company for several years. He had been a truck driver for Burnham Brothers, Dragon and P & K. He also hauled logs.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and ATV riding. He married Eleanore Libby on Aug. 27, 1975.

Survivors include his wife of Otisfield; his children, Debbie of Rangeley and Danny and Michael, both of Lewiston; stepchildren, Robert and Ester Roakes of Ossipee, N.H., Donald and Kathy Roakes of Otisfield, Suzann and Scott Ballou of Otisfield, Larry Roakes and his companion, Marie Keene of Waterford and Andrew Moore and his companion, Anne Murphy of Standish; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a stepson, Christopher Moore; five brothers and four sisters. He was the last of his generation.
