1935 – 2003
LEWISTON – Jeanne Irene Kobryn, 68, of Barker Mill Arms Apartments, Auburn, died Thursday, June 19, at d’Youville Pavillion.
She was born in Lewiston on April 4, 1935, the daughter of Ernest and Eugenie Bourassa Boulais. She was educated in local schools. She went to work in the shoe manufacturing business having worked for Shipiro Shoe Co., Knapp Shoe Co., and Falcon Shoe Co. until her retirement in April of 1995.
On Aug. 3, 1968 she married William Kobryn and were members of Sacred Heart Parish. She was a lifetime member of the Auburn V.F.W. Frank Hullett Post and also a member of The American Legion Post 153 Womens Auxiliary.
Among her interests were gardening, traveling, crocheting, crafts, and playing bingo. She had many friends and cared deeply for them but most of all she loved her family and she will be missed by all of them.
Survivors include her four daughters, Debra Sommerville of E. Hartford, Conn., Carol Tremblay and her husband Michel of Otisfield, Laurie Saleh of S. Paris, and Susan and her husband William of Alabama; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Alice Nadeau and her husband Robert of S. Windsor Conn.; two neices, Diane Levesque and her husband Donat of Auburn and Brandi Lemay of S. Windsor, Conn.
She was predeceased by her husband, William June 3, 1992; three brothers, Normand and William Boulais and Lawrence Desjardins; and her sister, Theresa Lemay.
