TOGUS – Clyde Dallas Stanton Jr., 82, of South Paris, died Saturday, June 14, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Born in Oxford, June 19, 1920, the son of Clyde Dallas Sr. and Sadie Hatstat Stanton, he attended school in Oxford.
He had been employed at A.C. Lawrence and Paris Manufacturing. He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was stationed in Panama before spending most of his service time in the South Pacific.
He was a member of the V.F.W. in Norway and the American Legion in South Paris.
Survivors include four sons, Clyde Leslie and wife, Carla Stanton of Poland, Bruce Stanton of Harrison, Paul Stanton and wife, Betty of Freedom, N.H., and Matthew Stanton of Harrison; two daughters, Donna Cash and husband, Joseph and Martha Storey and husband, Edward, all of Harrison; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and his companion, Donna Bedard of South Paris.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Josephine Lord, in 1996; two brothers, Edwin Gray and John Stanton; a sister, Ethel DeCelle; and a granddaughter, Sherrie Lee Storey.
