LEE, N.H. – Alice Brookes Fletcher, 92, died on Friday, June 25, at the Kirkwood Corners Residence.
She was born Aug. 18, 1911, in New Bedford, Mass. In 1929, she married Clifford Brookes and moved to Auburn, where she lived for more than 50 years.
Following the death of her husband, she married Ralph Fletcher of Auburn. She was a longtime employee of Bates College, where she worked as director of the women’s dining hall.
Mrs. Fletcher is survived by her son, Philip Brookes of Camden; her daughter, Marilyn Hoskin of Durham, N.H.; one granddaughter, Elena of New York City; and her stepchildren, Ralph Fletcher Jr. of Auburn, Christina Jones of Winthrop and Rachael Wiley of Dresden.
